District

District Overview

The School District of Beloit Turner is a comprehensive PreK-12 district serving more than 1,600 students in south central Wisconsin. We are known as a district of choice with students open enrolling into our district comprising more than 30% of our student body.

We have a 7 member school board whose primary focus is to make decisions which support our students and staff. Due to sound fiscal management, we are able to meet the needs and wishes of our students, staff, and families.

We are a small to midsize suburban/rural setting with 3 main campuses. Powers Elementary serves our early grades (Early Childhood and grades 4K through 1). Garden Prairie Intermediate School is an amazing new state of the art building opening in the 2021-22 school year and serves grades 2 through 5. Our middle school and high school share our main campus site serving grades 6 through 8 at Turner Middle School and grades 9 through 12 at F J Turner High School. We are very proud of the safe and secure learning environment we provide our students, staff, and families.

Beyond these key factors, we are known for being a smaller school setting which offers big opportunities for our students. By the time our students reach F.J. Turner High School, they are prepared to move toward their next step of college and career readiness education. We have numerous Advanced Placement course offerings that are rarely found at a school of our size. Our close proximity to Beloit College, UW Whitewater at Rock County, and Blackhawk Technical College gives our students even more opportunities to prepare them for life after high school. With an outstanding music and drama program, numerous club offerings, and many athletic opportunities led by caring educators, our students can always engage in an activity that fits their interest.
